Facial lines appear naturally as we age. Factors such as stress, poor diet and sun damage can speed up the aging process until deep lines and wrinkles begin to set in. Botox or Jeuveau is a quick 30 minute treatment that is FDA approved and works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines in adults – to help them look better. Some patients receiving treatment report the injections feel like a pinch. You may begin to notice a visible smoothing lines within 3-7 days, with results lasting up to 3-5 months for moderate to severe lines. This is not a permanent treatment. If you discontinue treatment the moderate to severe lines will gradually return.

Dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, a natural building block of the skin. They are very soft and gel-like and ideal for plumping lips and filling small lines and areas. They are best utilized for the replacement of fat or volume loss on the face and body.

I use a variety of FDA approved filler products such as:

HA is an important component of the skin and connective tissues, as it holds in moisture and keeps the skin hydrated. Over time, though, the natural concentration of HA, collagen and elastin in the body lessens, causing the skin to thin and lose its support structure.

The skin is comprised of three major layers. The top layer is the epidermis and contains skin cells. The middle layer is the dermis and contains both collagen and elastin. Collagen provides support to the skin while elastin provides strength and flexibility. The bottom layer is the subcutaneous and contains fat tissue. The subcutaneous supports the two layers above

You can expect some swelling and potentially some mild bruising around your injection sites for the first few days following your appointment. Gently applying a cold compress and taking

tablets will speed your healing process along.

I like to call Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) the fountain of youth and it is my personal favorite.

ezPRF Centrifuge)

Not only does EZPRF contain more platelets per mcL, it also has leukocytes (WBC) & mesenchymal stem cells!

We could also call it the "Platelet, Leukocyte & Mesenchymal-stem-cells Concentrate”, but that would be a bit long, wouldn’t it? (#PLMC)

The fact that the plasma actually clots into fibrin allows for a much slower release of the Growth factor and cytokines.

We have more cells, resulting in more GFs, kept alive longer and released for a much longer period of time.

What Is PRF?

PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is the next generation treatment of platelet concentrate. PRF is a fibrin matrix comprised of platelet cytokines, growth factors and cells used to help promote skin rejuvenation, hair growth and wound healing.

How Is PRF Different From Traditional Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Because there is no anticoagulant in the tube that the blood is collected, the plasma actually forms a platelet and white blood cell-rich fibrin scaffold once injected into the treatment area. The fibrin clot allows for a much slower and longer release of the growth factors and cytokines (up to 1 week versus few hours with PRP), again resulting in more clinical results.

Hence, PRF contain more platelets per mcL than PRP. Additionally, PRF also has leukocytes (WBC) & mesenchymal stem cells, unlike PRP, resulting in more potential clinical results.

How Does PRF Work?

Fibrin is a biological scaffold that forms in response to an injury anywhere in the body. Platelets circulating in the blood will bind to a scaffold of fibrin. When platelets bind to the fibrin scaffold, they become activated and release growth factors, which start the wound healing process by creating new skin cells, collagen and blood vessels. By injecting PRF into an area on the face or scalp, a controlled inflammatory response is created, which kick starts new cell growth and collagen production.

How Is PRF Used?

PRF is used to address many of the same issues as PRP, but PRF releases growth factors for much longer, up to one week, versus PRP which releases growth factors for few hours. This means that PRF could have better longer-term benefits. The growth factors are what stimulate the stem cells to improve collagen and elastin in the skin. The platelets in PRF are thought to be more robust than those in PRP, and to therefore promote faster healing.

The prepared PRF is immediately ready for injection into the face to fill facial folds and wrinkles, to plump the hollows under the eyes and dark circles, and to improve skin tone and texture. The PRF can also be injected into the scalp to aid with hair restoration and growth.

How Does PRF Treat The Undereye Loose Skin And Dark Circles?

The skin under the eyes is one of the thinnest skin on our body. It can be one of the first areas that show signs of aging.  PRF is one of the ideal treatments that improves this area and can be a better option than heat-based skin tightening devices.

PRF can also enhance the results of fillers under the eyes. Injecting fillers under the eyes, can instantly improve the hollowness under the eyes and is a fabulous treatment to instantly rejuvenate this area. However, too much fillers under the eyes can make the eyes look puffy or cause a bluish tinge if injected too superficially. Also, it can be very difficult to treat the dark circles only with fillers. Injecting PRF in additional to the fillers can significantly enhance the results of the fillers by tightening the loose skin under the eyes and improving the dark circles.

How long does PRF last?

Long-term effects, such as skin tightening, collagen production and enhanced skin quality, may take up to three to four months to be noticed and can last from six to 12 months. The visibility of expected benefits and results of the PRF treatment is typically seen after six weeks from initial treatment.

PDO Threads are a innovative FDA approved treatment that focuses on lifting and rejuvenating the face without the traditional surgical procedure. This type will restore that “beautiful V-shape” to your face, the procedure is minimally-invasive and requires minimal to no downtime. A PDO Thread Lift is a type of procedure wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible "lift" in the skin and facial structure. This has the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and therefore lifting and tightening the face, giving you an immediate benefit that increases over months period. These threads are fully absorbed over months for results up to 6 months. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat aging in another way: by provoking the body's "healing response" (during hydrolysis) and causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas. This aids in rejuvenation and neovascularization of the skin, along with the vital role collagen plays in the aging process.
PDO threads are often used with dermal filler and platelet rich plasma (PRP) to create a scaffold under the skin which will provide multiple short and long term benefits of total facial aesthetics.

Smooth Threads: Smooth threads are placed under your skin in a hashtag pattern which brings back the lost blood flow to the area which will repair and tighten the skin. Smooth threads can be used to smooth wrinkled, crepey skin, acne scars by replacing and adding collagen and elastin to damaged areas. These threads will build a solid foundation of new collagen production providing natural results.

FDA approved SkinPen

Microneedling collagen induction Therapy. It involves pricking the skin with tiny

sterilized needles.

Microneedling increases the production of collagen and other healing factors by causing trauma to the skin.

Collagen is an essential protein that helps keep the skin looking youthful, with a firm, smooth, and stretchy texture.

Aging causes the decline of collagen in the skin, contributing to wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Skin can also lose collagen due to injuries, such as acne scarring, stretch marks, or other scars.

It is important to realize that microneedling is not a quick fix, as it involves the growth of new skin. It can take several months for a person to see the full results of the procedure.

No one wants to look older than they are. But premature aging that presents as fine lines and wrinkles does just that. The tiny injuries from a microneedling session boost collagen and elastin production to fight lines and wrinkles.

Collagen and elastin are compounds in your skin that add structure and strength, lending a youthful quality. The wound-healing mechanisms also stimulate your body to produce new skin cells, making fine lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles less apparent.

Because microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, it’s also super effective in addressing acne and other scars on your skin. The only type of scar not possible to treat is keloid, or raised, scars.

Microneedling is effective in reducing the appearance of sun damage, particularly hyperpigmentation and age spots. If you have a blotchy, brownish complexion, which is probably a result of too many days of sunning, microneedling and its ability to stimulate new collagen and skin cells can reinvigorate your look and even out your tone.

Aging doesn’t just show up as wrinkles and discoloration. As you get older, your skin loses its elasticity, so it appears lax. Aging skin may also look dull and lack a lustrous glow. Microneedling can change this.

The buildup of collagen that occurs in response to the tiny wounds can improve skin structure to fight sagging. Plus, just 24 hours following a session, you experience a radiant, fresh glow.

Despite the fact that microneedling involves punching holes in your skin, it doesn’t increase the size of your pores. In fact, it helps your pores appear much smaller. When the collagen around your pores is stimulated, the area around each pore plumps, making the pore itself almost disappear.

Post-microneedling is the prime time to apply anti-aging treatments, moisturizers, and other topical treatments that boost skin health and appearance. The micro-holes receive creams, serums, and gels more readily and deliver them deeper into your dermis than when applied regularly.

Microneedling works just about anywhere on your body. It can be effective in reducing the appearance of stretch marks that show up after periods of rapid growth, such as during pregnancy.

The ruddiness and skin thickening of rosacea can be addressed with microneedling. If you suffer from this skin condition, you experience a hastened breakdown of collagen. Microneedling stimulates the growth of collagen to offset and replace this breakdown, so your skin looks less inflamed and irritated.

Because of the improved delivery of topical applications, you can use microneedling to help improve the effectiveness of topical acne treatments. Regular microneedling applications at Signature Skin Care can help your skin clear up.

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure where a series of superfine injections of vitamins, minerals and amino acids cocktails are delivered into the mesodermal layer of the skin. This infusion of savvy ingredients nourishes and rejuvenates the skin while also stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, both essential for skin’s natural elasticity. The skin will become more radiant, hydrated, nourished and firmer with an improved texture.

KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile.

  • You’re bothered (unhappy, self-conscious, embarrassed) by fat under the chin, also known as submental fullness

  • You feel the condition makes you look older or heavier than you actually are

  • You don’t want to have surgery

  • You eat well and exercise, but submental fullness does not go away

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA®destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. We will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received 6 treatments.

A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother. With a light or medium peel, you may need to undergo the procedure more than once to get the desired results.

Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, discolored skin and scars — usually on the face. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures. And they can be done at different depths, from light to deep. Deeper chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but also take longer to recover from.

Why it's done

A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure. Depending on the issues you're addressing with the procedure, you'll choose a chemical peel in one of three depths:

  • Light chemical peel.

A light (superficial) chemical peel removes the outer layer of skin (epidermis). It's used to treat fine wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness. You might have a light peel every two to five weeks.

  • Medium chemical peel.

A medium chemical peel removes skin cells from the epidermis and from portions of the upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). It's used to treat wrinkles, acne scars and uneven skin tone. You might need to repeat the procedure to achieve or maintain the desired result.

  • Deep chemical peel.

A deep chemical peel removes skin cells even deeper. You won't need repeat procedures to get the full effect.

Chemical Peels are costumes Treatments for each Patient skin type and needs.

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and vellus hair “ peach fuzz” from your face. Dermaplaning aims to make your skin’s surface smooth, youthful, and radiant.

Your skin is exposed daily to harsh environmental toxins, irritants, and sun damage. This can cause the top layer of your skin to appear dull, and it can make you look aged. Dermaplaning clears away those damaged skin cells so newer skin cells are what you see when you look in the mirror.
You may be advised to add a chemical peel to your dermaplaning treatment. Right after dermaplaning, your skin is able to deeply absorb and benefit from a chemical peel in a way it can’t at other times.

What is Hyaluronidase?

It is a naturally occurring enzyme that’s used to break down hyaluronic acid–based fillers.

The hyaluronic acid (HA) that’s the key ingredient in many dermal fillers is a polysaccharide that occurs naturally in the body. In skin, it resides in the extracellular matrix, alongside collagen, elastin, and connective tissue, to provide plumpness and structure—the very qualities you may desire when pursuing filler. However, if you’re unhappy with your HA filler results or are experiencing complications, the use of hyaluronidase can resolve the situation.

Hyaluronidases is able to dissolve subcutaneous nodules or to correct excessive quantities of injected filler.

How long does Hyaluronidase take to work?

It takes two the three days for hyaluronidase to break down filler, with most of the action happening within the first 24 hours. Over the next couple weeks, your body will continue to resorb the remaining hyaluronic acid molecules, after which you’ll see your final results.

For some patients, one round of injections is sufficient. For others, several rounds may be needed. A patient’s own body chemistry can impact the efficacy of or the speed at which the enzyme works.

Our blood is made of two main components, red blood cells, and plasma. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors.

Growth factors, in a sense, play the role of messengers, signaling skin cells to function.

The use of PRP is "a great treatment option for hair loss because it increasing hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycle.

I believe that combination treatments are providing the most substantive results for my patients." PRP "like MiracleGro" for the scalp in that "it amplifies the body's natural repair system" while stimulating growth.

For best results, consistency is key. Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter, depending on the individual patient's response and results. Following this protocol, anticipated results can first be seen within two to three months.

The healing power of light was first discovered by the American Aeronautics and Aerospace Program NASA, who explored the effects of LEDs and their therapeutic effects.

LED Light Therapy not only has a large impact on our mental health and biological clock. The various colours from the light spectrum can be used to treat various kinds of skin problems. Hospitals and medical centers around the world have already been using light therapy for years to treat and cure skin diseases and skin problems.

Light Therapy and your skin

Light is absorbed by the skin and triggers the cells into producing more cellular fuel (ATP). ATP boosts the skin’s performance and increases DNA-RNA activity and releases Nitric Oxide (NO) within the body. The increased activity and the release of NO helps the skin to heal, regenerate and combat inflammation. LED light therapy causes skin cells to use their energy to activate fibroblasts and produce more collagen and elastin proteins, and stimulate the body’s rejuvenating processes.

LED light therapy uses different colours and color combinations targeting various skin problems. Depending on the desired result, LED light therapy is combined with infrared (IR) for even better results.

Light Therapy colours & functions

O-Shot Rejuvenate vaginal tissue and enhance sexual pleasureWhat is the O-Shot?

The O-Shot is a nonsurgical procedure that uses a woman's own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from a simple blood draw, to rejuvenate vaginal tissues and enhance sexual pleasure. The FDA approved PRP treatment immediately activates the body's localized stem cells and begins rejuvenating and revitalizing vaginal and clitoral function helping women experience orgasms with increased intensity.

How Does the O-Shot Work?

The in-office procedure starts with a simple blood draw from the patient's arm. Using an FDA approved centrifuge, platelets and growth factors are separated to create PRP. After applying a numbing cream to the vagina, a very thin needle is used to inject the PRP near the clitoris and the upper area of the vagina that is most important for sexual pleasure (the O-spot). The entire process takes about 20 minutes and women experience little to no discomfort. Patients experience the benefit of the O-Shot almost immediately with full rejuvenation benefit after about 3 months.

O-ShotTreatment Results:

  • Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation

  • Rejuvenated skin of the vulva

  • Tightening of the vaginal opening

  • Stronger orgasm

  • Increased sexual desire

  • Increased ability to have vaginal orgasms

  • Increased lubrication

  • Decreased pain for those suffering from painful intercourse

  • Descreased stress urinary incontinence

The Plasma pen is an advanced, minimaly-invasive, skin lifting, and rejuvenation device used to treat wrinkles, skin tags and creping skin. This treatment can be used for a number of procedures to dramatically enhance the looks without the need for costly and invasive surgery.

The Plamere Plasma Pen is an FDA approved device used to perform fibroblast therapy. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen. Collagen is what keeps the skin taunt and supple. This method can be used to treat multiple areas of concern without damaging the surrounding tissue leading to quick healing time and low risk of adverse reactions.

How does it work?

Plasma is the fourth state of matter along with Solid, Liquid, and Gas. The principle involves the ionization of gases from the atmospheric air to create a micro electrical discharge or ARC. The ARC never touches the skin, but causes a micro injury to the skin’s epidermal layer while simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeper dermal structure via thermal conductions. This is more commonly known as Fibroblasting. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.

What does it do?

This anti-aging treatment is based on a series of minute dots adjacent to the tension lines on the skin. This process triggers an immediate tightening, lifting, and remodeling of the skin. This technique is used to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.

What Does It Treat?

  • Fine Lines

  • Crows Feet Lines

  • Mild Eyelid ptosis

  • Nasal Labial Folds / Laugh Lines

  • Marionette Lines

  • Smokers / Kissing Lines

  • Neck Lines

  • Moles

  • Skin Tags

  • Scar Removal

  • Stretch Mark Removal

Who is a candidate?

Fitzpatrick skin types I-III are safe candidates for the Plasma Pen. Darker skin tones (African American, African, Latin, Native American, Indian, Middle Eastern, Asian ancestry and people of mixed ethnicities) may not be good candidates for Plasma Pen as the heat may cause hyperpigmentation due to the heat associated with the ARC created by plasma pen.

Bellafill is an FDA-approved dermal filler used to correct smile lines (nasolabial folds) and treat acne scars, wrinkles, and other skin folds. It is a gel filler consisting of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) microspheres suspended in purified bovine collagen and local anesthetic lidocaine to ease any discomfort during injection. Since its inception, Bellafill is the only filler approved by the FDA to treat acne scarring and has an effective period of up to five years.

How Bellafill Works

The main function of Bellafill is Collagen stimulation. When you inject it directly beneath the wrinkle, it supports and smoothens the area. The PMMA microspheres allow Bellafill to last significantly longer than other fillers because they are non-resorbable, meaning the body cannot absorb them. As a result, the body begins to generate its natural collagen to merge with the microspheres. By the end of the process, 80% of the patient’s collagen and 20% of the microspheres fill the wrinkle. Over the weeks, the skin absorbs the injected collagen, and the newly generated collagen takes its place. This is what makes Bellafillthe best dermal filler in the market, and gives it its long-lasting results.

Understanding Collagen

Our skin appears tight and youthful because of collagen. As we age, collagen production slow down, which causes our skin to become less elastic, thereby causing wrinkles and folds. This is where Bellafill comes in to improve volume in the treated area immediately. Type 1 and Type 3 collagen provides specific amino acids which help minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Bellafill is the only filler that stimulates both types I and III collagenfor natural and long-lasting correction.

How Bellafill Compares with Others

There are several cosmetic injectables in the market today that physicians use to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and skin folds. Here’s how Bellafill compares with some of them:

Bellafill vs Sculptra

There are three key differences between Bellafill and Sculptra. Bellafill can last up to five years without any maintenance, whereas Sculptra lasts for two years and requires yearly maintenance. Bellafill might have a higher upfront cost; however, Sculptra’s long-term costs can much higher since it doesn’t last as long and requires yearly maintenance. With Bellafill, you get immediate results that get better over time. In contrast, Sculptra’s result takes 4 to 8 weeks to become visible.

Bellafill vs Radiesse

The most notable difference between Bellafill and any other filler is durability. Radiesse comes in second place and lasts up to two years. As far as consistency is concerned, Radiesse has a much thicker composition, so it isn’t recommended for thinner skin.

Bellafill vs Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a common skincare ingredient and bonding agent but it is used as an injectable dermal filler as well. The hyaluronic acid fillers are FDA approved to correct lines and fold and to restore lost volume in the lips. The HA fillers restore volume temporarily and the body slowly breaks them down and absorbs them. Unlike Bellafill treatment, Hyaluronic Acid can be injected in the lips and under the eyes to restore lost volume in those areas. Both procedures have immediate effects; however, hyaluronic acid treatment lasts for only about a year or less depending on the specific product and the area injected, making it more expensive long-term. Most common side effects include bruising, reddnes, swelling, and pain.

Brink Back Your Inner Bella WithBellafill

Today, Bellafill is one of the most popular and most studied dermal fillers in the market. With thousands of injections performed every year with the 5-year dermal filler, Bellafill is now the leading long-lasting alternative to short-lived temporary facial fillers.

Don’t let your hands give away your age! Bellafill can help you keep you looking as young as you feel.

Even with a more rested and youthful appearance of the face, your age can easily be given away by the appearance of your hands. Bellafill restores volume to the hands while providing smooth, natural-looking results that can be seen immediately and can last up to 5 years.

Microneedling and Neurotoxin - A Powerful Combination for Skin Rejuvenation

A Newtox facial utilizes the micro-channels created during a microneedling treatment to deliver serums deep into skin without affecting muscle movement.

Rejuvapen NXT® is the latest FDA approved micro-needling treatment.  Rejuvapen stimulates the production of collagen in the skin with fine sterile needles that create small punctures in the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin.  The treatment leads to the release of growth factors and stimulating the formation of new collagen, elastin and neovascularization in the dermis.

Jeuveau, however, has the added affect of a slight tightening of the skin. A Newtox Jeuveau facial is a great option for individuals who seek a non-invasive option to smooth fine lines but are concerned about looking frozen, which is a result of overdone Toxin.

The Pout also opt to apply other products alongside Jeuveau in a “microdroplet” technique: hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, stem cell growth serums or even platelet rich fibrin (PRF). These custom blends are micro-needled into the dermal level to address other concerns.

A cocktail of these special ingredients and agents can do a lot for your skin: the vitamin C can brighten it, hyaluronic acid can hydrate and add plumpness, and PRF is rich in regenerative growth factors that boost collagen production.

The goal of a Newtox facial is to give patients tighter and brighter, younger glowing looking skin and a more rejuvenated appearance while delivering nutrients to the skin.
